Who we are

Insignia Waste Holdings, LLC, led by Managing Partner & CEO Jim Doherty, was founded in 2019. After multiple senior leadership positions for both Fortune 200 and private equity backed waste & recycling focused businesses, Jim founded Mystic Environmental Solutions in 2011. Mystic Environmental Solutions which started out as a boutique consulting & advisory firm to investors in the broader waste & recycling industries; with a focus on strategic acquisitions within the middle market private equity space & venture capital raises has recently transitioned over the years to focusing on managing recent investment platforms. As part of Mystic’s growing portfolio, Insignia Waste Holdings, LLC (IWH) was formed to better serve the synergies between an overlapping portfolio & client base.

Previously Jim led M&A/Asset Strategy for Georgia-Pacific's recycling division & prior to that was the Vice President of Recycling Services for Waste Management. Early career was spent in supply chain, finance & strategy for industry leaders such as Gerber Baby Food, Toys R Us & CVS Pharmacy.

Jim, originally from the Boston area, now resides in CT after several stints across the country with his wife & four children.

Headquartered in Glastonbury, CT, the IWH leadership team consists of a group of both waste & recycling industry veterans & seasoned, successful executives from a supply chain and/or technology background. All whom have a longstanding working relationship together built on trust, integrity & loyalty. Our mission is to grow a sustainable, successful & robust Environmental Services company to service our customers for years to come.
